"LEVON OF ALEPPO" AND "VIKINGS OF ARTSAKH" LED THE ISSUE INTO A DEADLOCK

"The issue of Artsakh cannot be a topic for negotiations. Everything
or nothing," stated Davit Hakobyan, leader of the Marxist Party
of Armenia, on June 6 at the Pastark Club. He also said he first
introduced the term the issue of Artsakh, while others used the
"provincial, vulgar" term Karabakh conflict. "The issue of Artsakh
is a component of the Armenian issue, the continuation of Article
4 of the agreement of Brest-Litovsk, the object of decolonization
resulting from the three Turkish-Bolshevist annexation agreements,"
Davit Hakobyan formulated.
The Marxist Party is sure that the government should present the
Artsakh issue in this logic: "Liberation struggle for political
self-determination that was imposed on us, as well as a patriotic
war because we did not have a regular army, volunteers fought, and
therefore it was a fair struggle." Meanwhile, according to Marxist N 1,
our diplomats present the issue with a defeatist stance in accordance
with the "resolution imposed by the Anglo-Saxon tribes". Davit Hakobyan
is disappointed that after winning the military round we are losing
the diplomatic round. "Levon of Aleppo, Levon Ter-Petrosyan resigned
with the dignity of a knight after his defeat in the diplomatic
round. Whereas, the Vikings of Artsakh who came to power in a coup
with the bayonets of volunteers have led consistently the diplomatic
round into a deadlock for ten years. The seven liberated provinces
are put out to auction." Davit Hakobyan thinks the auction of seven
territories "was okayed on May 30, 2006."
The Marxist Party of Armenia does not only raise these issues but also
offers ways out. First, if the officials return the seven territories,
"to unite Armenia with some 4.5 thousand sq km of Soviet Karabakh
and call it self-determination, we will announce the utter political
capitulation of the Vikings of Artsakh to show to the world the morale
and will of the nation." And if people are willing to solve this issue,
the Marxists propose: declaring the seven territories of the historical
Armenian Bargushat as the territory of 1.5 million Armenians displaced
from Azerbaijan, the territories are our historical and geographical
area, our area of security, these territories are our military
contribution after the defeat of Azerbaijan, and finally we cannot
set up the second Armenian republic without these territories. The
second Armenian republic will have 15 thousand square km and will be
called the Armenian Republic of Artsakh.
To bring this proposal into being, the party which has no
representatives to the parliament, proposes that the National
Assembly repeal the "three Turkish-Bolshevist annexation agreements
dividing Armenia." Davit Hakobyan thinks by accepting the challenge
of war and liberating these territories we de factor repealed
these agreements. Afterwards Armenia withdraws from the talks,
rejects the Minsk Group format and Artsakh negotiates in terms of
decolonization. Davit Hakobyan thinks the developments regarding
Kosovo and the possible international recognition of Kosovo may
favor Karabakh.
