YAN PORTERFIELD: THE VICTORY IS A NOTABLE PAGE IN THE HISTORY OF ARMENIAN FOOTBALL

"This victory is a great event for Armenian football. The victory is
a notable day in the history of Armenian football, and this match
was a beautiful performance," chief coach of the Armenian national
football team Yan Porterfield said in a press conference following
the Armenia-Poland match. He thanked the goalkeeper of the Armenian
team Gevorg Kasparov for a brilliant game and Hamlet Mkhitaryan for
the only victorious goal. In his words, the team played successfully,
since today the Armenian team has a choice today, new players have
"grown up," which will enhance the competition in the team.
The Armenian team will seriously prepare for the next matches
especially that with the team of Portugal. According to the trainer
it is necessary to play well with all the rivals and in the last game
Armenian footballers proved that they are able to do that.
After the first half of the Yan Porterfield discussed the game with
the players, as a result of which eh Armenian team showed a wiser
and a more active game in the second period. Hamlet Mkitaryan's goal
brought victory to the Armenian national team.
If before the last two games Armenia was at the bottom of the list
in Group A, then now it has advanced to the 5th position and can even
compete with Belgium for a higher standing.
