No agreement on Karabakh in leaders talks

Azeri and Armenian leaders failed to reach agreement on the disputed
Nagorno-Karabakh enclave at talks in Russia.
"The two sides have presented their positions. I can't say progress
has been made on these positions," Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Elmar
Mamediarov said, Reuters reports. For his part, Armenian Foreign
Minister Vardan Oskanyan said: "A serious discussion has taken place
in St Petersburg but no agreement has been reached."
"The sides were offered new, alternative ways of resolving the
conflict, they will be discussed," Bernard Fassier, OSCE MG French
Co-chair said in his turn. "The negotiations will continue", he
resumed.
To recall, the meeting of Azeri President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian
President Robert Kocharyan was held on June 9 within the frames of the
International Economic summit in St Petersburg.
