RECOGNITION OF KOSOVO WILL NOT IMMEDIATELY LEAD TO RECOGNITION OF NAGORNO KARABAKH

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ The current talks on the settlement of the Nagorno
Karabakh conflict are built on Prague principles and cannot last
endlessly, since it has a logical end, Director of "Hay Dat" office
and head of ARF "Dashnaktsutyun's" political issues department Giro
Manoyan stated to a press conference in Yerevan June 12. "It's clear
for us that first of all the issue of determining status of Nagorno
Karabakh must be resolved, other questions are side issues.

Moreover, their discussion is senseless," Giro Manoyan underscored. He
reminded ARF "Dashnaktsutyun's" stance: it is senseless to speak
about returning territories until the issue of Nagorno Karabakh's
status is resolved. And if the basic problem is resolved, the return
of territories will be a compromise, which must be realized taking
into account security objectives of Nagorno Karabakh and Armenia.

Answering the question how recognition of Kosovo's independence
may influence on the further status of Nagorno Karabakh, Giro
Manoyan stated that recognition of Kosovo will not lead to immediate
recognition of Nagorno Karabakh's independence, but it may strengthen
positions of the Armenian side at the negotiation process, IA Regnum
    reports.
