STATUS OF NAGORNI GARABAGH PRESENTED BY ARMENIA CONTRADICTS TO THE PRINCIPLES OF TALKS

On the eve of meeting of Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia in
Petersburg scheduled on June 8, Armenia presented issue on status of
Nagorni Garabagh which contradicts to principles of talks being held
with the purpose of conflict regulation. As AzerTaj informs, Minister
of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Elmar Mamamdyarov, underlined it
in his statement made for journalist on June 8.
Minister evaluated exaggeration of the issue in question by Armenia as
destructive position. We repeatedly said that first of all military
forces should leave occupied territories, peacemakers should be
placed their, territorial infrastructure should be restored, refugees
should be returned to their native lands. And then status issue can
be discussed.
E. Mamadyarov said: Armenia's coming out with such position may put
and end to talks that have been held for 3 years. If Armenia has come
to Petersburg with this idea it will be blow to talk process. Perhaps
such statement is meant for Armenian society.
