WITHDRAWAL OF RUSSIAN MILITARY BASES FROM GEORGIA GOES ON OUTRUNNING
THE SCHEDULE; A new railway train with hardware and property of the
12th military base of the group of Russian forces in Transcaucasia
(GRVZ) deployed in Batumi departed from Georgia to Russia.

A new railway train with hardware and property of the 12th military
base of the group of Russian forces in Transcaucasia (GRVZ) deployed
in Batumi departed from Georgia to Russia. The train consists of
35 carriages and platforms with armored and automotive vehicles
(51 units) and part of the material and technical property of the
military base with an overall weight of about 900 tons. Yesterday,
the train crossed the Georgian-Azerbaijani border..

This is the fifth train with hardware and property of the Batumi
military base sent from Georgia in 2007. Until the end of 2007, 12
trains with hardware and property of the base will be sent to Russia
and Armenia, to the 102nd military base of the GRVZ in Gyumri. The
remaining property of the 62nd military base (Akhalkalaki) will be
brought to Armenia by automotive columns as well.

According to Konstantin Totsky, permanent representative in Russia
of NATO, Russia fully observed the Istanbul obligations. According
to Totsky, an evaluation mission of NATO should come to Georgia and
make sure that the military base in Gudauta (Georgia) was really
disbanded. The mission will also make sure that the withdrawal of
the 12th and 62nd military bases of the GRVZ is going on according
    to schedule.
