NATIONAL ASSEMBLY SPEAKER RECEIVES IRANIAN AMBASSADOR

The speaker of National Assembly, Tigran Torosyan, received today
Alireza Haghighiani, ambassador of Islamic Republic of Iran to
Armenia. Speaker Torosyan expressed hope that relations with the
new parliament will be as "warm and friendly." The speaker said the
National Assembly will soon set up a parliamentary friendship group
with Iranian parliament to step up inter-parliamentary relations.
The ambassador delivered the congratulation note by Gholam Ali
Haddad-Adel, president of Iran, to speaker Torosyan on the occasion of
being re-elected as parliament speaker. He also delivered invitation
for an official visit to Islamic Republic of Iran. The interlocutors
spoke about bilateral relations referring to July intergovernmental
committee 7th session in Yerevan to discuss projects of cooperation
in economy, agriculture, culture and energy.
