Armenian Foreign Minister, Vartan Oskanyan, announced yesterday that
Armenia was not indifferent about the possibility of using the Gabala
radar station in Azerbaijan by Russia in cooperation with the US.

Oskanyan announced this at a joint press conference with Robert
Simmons, special envoy of the NATO Secretary General for Central Asia
    and the South Caucasus.

According to Oskanyan, "while the issue of deploying American
antimissile asses deals with the territory of Europe, this is a
problem of Europe, the US and Russia."

"However, our interest appears when the matter is about the South
Caucasus and the possibility of joint operation of the Gabala radar
station by Russia and the US," said Oskanyan. He added: "In this
context, the matter is about our region directly and Armenia questions
how this will influence our security."

The minister emphasized that he had discussed this issue with
Simmons who said that NATO "is going to voice its own evaluation of
    the problem."
