AUTHORS OF FILM "FLOWING WELTH" CONCLUDE

YEREVAN, MARCH 23, NOYAN TAPAN. International Day of Water is
celebrated in the world on March 22. On this occasion the film
"Flowing Wealth" about current problems of Armenia's water resources
was demonstrated in Yerevan. According to the film, there are 9,480
big and small rivers in Armenia, and studies show that they are
polluted with heavy metals, sulfur oxides, waste water and
garbage. Particularly, in the city of Alaverdi garbage is directly
dumpted into the Debet River. Besides, water consumption is increasing
in Armenia with every passing year so it is urgent to develop
fundamental programs on preservation and increase of fresh water
resources by constructing reservoirs and repairing water supply
    systems and cleaning stations.
