YEREVAN, MAY 3, NOYAN TAPAN. "These authorities that are strange to
the Armenian people will go from Armenia just as Persians, Turks and
other strangers left our country." Mikael Hayrapetian, representative
of the "Impeachment" alliance, made this statement during the May 3
rally organized by the "Impeachment" alliance, the "Republic" party
and the "New Times" party. He called on those present to participate
in the parliamentary elections on May 12 and defend their own votes.

According to another representative of the alliance Vahagn Khachatrian,
the primary goal of "Impeachment", "Republic" and "New Times" is to
carry out a power shift. "Our objective is to form legitimate power
which should be formed by the people itself," Vahagn Khachatrian said.

Member of the political board of the "Republic" party Gegham
Harutyunian appealed to residents of Yerevan to take an active part
in the political process. "The free heart of Yerevan is starting to
beat, Yerevan should become the citadel of freedom," he stated.

8-10 thousand people were present at the rally in Freedom Square.

The next joint rally of the "Impeachment" alliance, the "Republic"
and "New Times" parties is scheduled to take place on May 9 in the
    square adjacent to the Matenadaran.
