'Alliance' party has informed "A1+" that Samvel Babayan's candidacy
for NKR presidency will be talked over after May 12, NA elections. Yet
"Alliance" has to make its final decision by May 5 as this is the
deadline for the application to NKR presidency.
"Today this issue is out of the spectrum as we are running NA
elections. Samvel Babayan is physically unable to take part in both
RA and NKR elections," Gnel Ghlechyan, member to "Alliance" Civil
Council has informed "A1+".
At present, "Alliance" avoids giving any comments on any of the
NKR presidency candidates. In respond to our next question: "Why
does Artsakh war hero Samvel Babayan prefer RA NA elections for NKR
presidency?" ,
Samvel Babayan was sincere to tell, "He finds no difference between
Armenia and Artsakh. Artsakh is part of Armenia. As you know, he
has had great impact on both Artsakh and its adjacent regions and
RA border defense. Today, he is settled down in Yerevan. We announce
that all problems are solved in Armenia.
'Alliance' is aimed at reinforcement of Armenia as well as at helping
Artsakh, one of the RA marzes.
Artsakh is more defended if 'Alliance' carries out its activities
in Yerevan.
"NKR IS SUBJEST TO RA" To comment on the NKR president elections, Mr.
Ghlechyan has stated, ' It is known that everything happening in
Stepanakert is just a theatrical performance. People are not just
elected for their brilliant ideas but for close connections with RA.
Previous experiences proved that fact. Armenia has started a campaign
against NKR starting with NKR Prime Minister Zhirayr Poghosyan to
Samvel Babayan.'
Gnel Ghlechyan assures that this time won't be an exception:
somebody subject to RA will become a president in Artsakh." Artsakh
will be deprived of its own democracy." In answer to the question,
why "Alliance" does nothing to prevent illegal actions, he claims,
"Samvel Babayan is not a man of influence.
Today RA officialdom jeopardizes not only NKR but also RA," Ghlechyan
mentioned.
"A1+" tried to find more clarifications of Samvel Babayan's law suit
instituted in 2005. Ghlechyan remarks, "I have no idea about its
legal action. After 5 years of imprisonment, Samvel Babayan was set
free under NKR president Arkadi Ghukasyan's supervision.
Babayan had some health problems that's why they were afraid he could
die in the prison."
