    RA STATE BUDGETARY EXPENDITURES GROW BY 16.4% IN FIRST QUARTER OF 2007 ON SAME PERIOD OF LAST YEAR

    YEREVAN, MAY 9, NOYAN TAPAN. In the first quarter of 2007, the RA state
    budgetary expenditures made 93.1 bln drams (about 259 mln USD). 82.9%
    of allocated funds was spent on financing of current expenditures,
    12.6% - on financing of capital expenditures, 4.5% - on net crediting.

    According to data of the RA Ministry of Finance and Economy, budgetary
    expenditures grew by 16.4% or over 13.1 bln drams on the same period
    of last year.

    This growth is mainly conditioned by an increase in capital
    expenditures, transfers and expenditures on purchase of services.

    In the period under review, about 77.2 bln drams was allocated for
    financing of current expenditures, which ensured 87.2% fulfilment of
    the quarterly program. Current expenditures grew by 9.4% or 6.6 bln
    drams on the same petiod of last year.

    11% of current expenditures (about 8.5 bln drams) was spent on payment
    of salaries of state institutions' employees. The quarterly program
    of salaries was fulfilled by 89.7%. The budgetary expenditures on
    salaries exceeded by 9.5% the respective allocations in 2006.

    In January-March 2007, subsidies of over 3.5 ln drams were provided
    from the RA state budget. They made up 4.6% of current expenditurs,
    with quarterly program being executed by 66.3%. The total amount of
    subsidies from the state budget exceeded by 10.4% or 334.5 mln drams
    the respective index of 2006.
