DECISION TO RETURN NAGORNO KARABAKH LANDS SHOULD BE MADE BY PEOPLE,
SAMVEL BABAYAN ASSERTS
YEREVAN, MAY 12, NOYAN TAPAN. The decision to return Nagorno Karabakh
lands should be made by the people," Chairman of Dashink Party Samvel
Babayan stated to journalists after voting at Yerevan's polling station
N 10/24 on May 12 adding that no one has an intention to return the
lands. He also said that he does not treat seriously Azerbaijani
President's last statements about Nagorno Karabakh problem. In any
case, in S. Babayan's words, we should not permit worst development of
events. "We should do our best to exclude resumption of war," he said.
In response to the question how S. Babayan treats appointment of Seyran
Ohanian as Head of General Headquarters of RA Armed Forces - First
Deputy Defence Minister, S. Babayan said that he does not wish to make
any statements, as the Defence Ministry is "secrecy" for him. At the
same time, he congratulated S. Ohanian on the occasion of being
appointed and expressed the hope that "every person will work on its
place."
