RECOGNIZING AZERBAIJAN AS LEADER OF REGION INCREASES INTEREST TOWARDS COUNTRY

France, Strasburg / corr. Trend E.Mejidly / The Head of the Permanent
Representation of Azerbaijan to the Council of Europe, Arif Mammadov,
said in an interview with Trend on 14 May that the corrections made
by the Council of Europe and US Department of State with regards to
the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict once more illustrates the importance
of Azerbaijan.
According to him, Azerbaijan has been recognized as a guarantee of
the energy security of Europe, as well as playing a leading role
in relations to the Western countries, Iran and Russia in expanding
relations with the Middle Asian countries. The Ambassador said that
recognizing Azerbaijan as a leader and strong country of the region
increases the interests towards the Country.
Mammadov said that the foreign countries already demonstrate a great
interest towards Azerbaijan. They already recognize that Azerbaijan
is an economically developed country which possesses ample financial
opportunities.
