GERMAN DELEGATION VISITS KARABAKH

The German delegation comprised of representatives of the political,
public, economic and media circles headed by the Director of the
European Academy of Berlin, Dr. Ekaro Stratenschulte is visiting the
Nagorno Karabakh Republic.
On May 16 the delegation had a meeting with the Chairman of the NKR
National Assembly Ashot Gulyan. Ekaro Stratenschulte noted that the
visit of the delegation to Nagorno Karabakh is a response to the
visit of the NKR Parliament Speaker to Berlin in October 2005.
Presenting the position of the NKR authorities, Ashot Ghulyan
underlined that non-participation in the Karabakh conflict settlement
process does not correspond to the real format of the negotiations.
Today members of the German delegation met with representatives of
non-governmental organizations of Nagorno Karabakh. Representatives
of all the NGO was united in their opinion that today the societies
of Karabakh and Azerbaijan are not ready to co-exist together, and
this is the consequence of Azerbaijan's anti-Armenian policy.
On May 9 the German delegation is scheduled to meet with NKR President
Arkady Ghukasyan.
