CENTRAL ELECTORAL COMMITTEE MAKES A STATEMENT

    Panorama.am

    Dear colleagues,

Hereby we make our explanations concerning several statements made
by Orinats Yerkir Party (OYeK) on May 16 through mass media.

OYeK said it did not collect any single vote in 400 precincts. In
one of the precincts, OYeK got 123 votes more after recounting.

Please be advised that the number of the mentioned votes went up not
during recounting. Instead, during data entry of the final results,
CEC deputy chairman noticed the number of OYeK votes in the protocol
and entered the data into the computer.

Yesterday Hovanes Margaryan, candidate in election community 33 and
member of OYeK, also made announcements through media. The candidate
complained that the recounting is too slow saying 5 hour norm per
    one precinct is violated.

Please be reminded that according to the Armenian Election
Code, the recounting started on May 14, 9:00 and ended on May
17, 14:00. Generally, it took three and half working day or 28
hours. During one working day, 5 precincts were checked based on the
application of the candidates on proportional contest and 9 other
majoritarian contests were recounted with each precinct taking 3.1
hour time. Voting results did not change after recounting.

Please be advised that the voting results did not undergo any major
changes in all 7 election community with applications filed.

    CEC Press Secretary Tsovinar Khachatryan.
