ARMENIAN DEFENCE MINISTER PRAISES MILITARY TIES WITH USA

Yerevan, 22 May: Armenia highly values its cooperation with the
United States, Defence Minister Mikayel Harutyunyan said at a briefing
today. He was answering a question about military cooperation between
Armenia and the USA.
"We have high-level military cooperation with the USA, and this
cooperation can be expanded further. I am grateful to the US
administration for its assistance," the minister said, adding that
he did not mean only direct financial assistance but many joint
programmes as well.
"There are a large number of them [programmes]. It will take us
long if we start talking about them. I only wish to repeat that our
cooperation with the USA is on a quite high level. Be assured that
it will develop further," Harutyunyan said.
