HEAD OF "ORINATS YERKIR" FACTION OF CURRENT CONVOCATION NATIONAL ASSEMBLY TO ACT AS INDEPENDENT DEPUTY IN NEXT PARLIAMENT

YEREVAN, MAY 23, NOYAN TAPAN. Samvel Balasanian, member of Orinats
Yerkir party (OYP), who has been elected by the majoritarian electoral
system at electoral district No 35 (Shirak marz) to the RA National
Assembly of the fourth convocation, on May 23 applied to the party
with the request not to include him in the Orinats Yerkir faction,
expressing a desire to act as an independent deputy. NT correspondent
was informed about it from OYP spokeswoman Susanna Abrahamian, who
denied the rumors that the deputy left their party.
To recap, S. Balasanian was also a deputy of the National Assemblies
of the previous two convocations: in 1999, he was elected as a
non-partisan, in 2003 - as a member of the OYP and he headed the
faction until 2007.
