ARAM I HEADS CEREMONY OF PUTTING FOUNDATION STONE OF NEW BUILDING OF HAIGAZIAN SEMINARY

ANTELIAS, MAY 23, NOYAN TAPAN - ARMENIANS TODAY. The ceremony of
putting the foundation stone of the new building of the Haigazian
seminary took place on May 20, headed by Aram I Catholicos of the Great
House of Cilicia. The new building is being built in the outskirts
of the historic city of Aleppo, on a plot in a comparatively newly
populated district.
The Aleppo Mayor, Berio Diocese Primate, Seminary Director made
speeches during the ceremony. They emphasized the important role of
the school in the Armenians' life.
His Holiness appreciated the program of school building being
implemented by the National authorities. Aram I Catholicos affirmed
that the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia, in parallel to
its spiritual and religious mission, displays special care towards
the Armenian school.
At the end of his speech, His Holiness Patriarch called on all
benefactors of the Armenian nation to participate in all the
initiatives organized for life and mission of the Armenian school
and support the affair of keeping Armenian traditions of Diaspora.
