RA PRESIDENT ROBERT KOCHARIAN VISITS M. HERATSI MEDICAL UNIVERSITY
YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 2, NOYAN TAPAN. On November 2, RA President Robert
Kocharian visited Yerevan's M. Heratsi Medical University, got
acquainted with the work done there, was present at the scientific
council's sitting. As Gohar Kyalyan, the University Rector, said in her
interview to journalists, large-scale construction work has been done
in the University, an energy center has been created. The Medical
University will generate and sell to the Armenian Electric Networks
company electricity of 4 mWt, by the licence and fixed payment of the
Public Services Regulatory Commission, thanks to the co-generation
equipment of the Caterfiler American company. Parallel with electricity
generation, as a secondary product, the system permits to receive 4.6
mWt heat energy, which will provide heating and hot water supply of
University's all educational and clinic annexes.
As Viktor Soghomonian, the RA President's Spokesperson, informed
journalists, during the scientific council's sitting the University
management asked to assist them in restoration of the University
settlement: the University asks to enable it to purchase some buildings
in the territory from Koryun-Abovian streets to Abovian park and to
create a University settlement. According to V. Soghomonian, "the RA
President has the will of assisting them," but he proposed them
presenting their request with all motivations. The RA President
evaluated the energy system installed at the University as "instructive
experience" for using it at other institutions.
