DANIEL FRIED: KOSOVO MODEL CANNOT BE A PRECEDENT FOR KARABAKH SETTLEMENT

US Deputy Secretary of State Daniel Fried declared in Baku that the
"Kosovo model of settlement is not and cannot be a precedent for
the resolution of the Karabakh or other conflicts." "The US stands
for the peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict," M. Fried
said. He refused to comment on the proportion of military forces in
the region, adding that "establishment of peace in the given region
is very important."
The US Deputy Secretary of State said solution of the conflict will
help Azerbaijan become an economically and politically strong country."
