THE SAME SITUATION IN KARABAKH

The president of the Union of Greens Hakob Sanasaryan stated in a
news conference on November 6 at the National Press Club that the
environmental disaster awaiting Armenia in case the mines in Teghut are
operated by Valex Group may occur in Nagorno-Karabakh as well. Hakob
Sanasaryan said the owner of Valex Group Valery Mejlumyan has forty
licenses to operate mines in Karabakh.
"If the policy on mining is not changed, Armenia and Artsakh will
soon face major environmental problems, and food production will be
impossible there," Hakob Sanasaryan says. According to him, tailings
soon turn into dust, and the dust spreads within tens of kilometers,
up to one hundred kilometers.
