"HOLDING OF RATING RESEARCHES HAS NOTING TO DO WITH SOCIOLOGY," PROFESSOR LYUDMILA HAROUTIUNIAN BELIEVES

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 13, NOYAN TAPAN. Holding of rating researches,
image-making, speaking in favour of this or that political figure
have nothing to do with sociology. This point of view was expressed
by professor Lyudmila Haroutiunian, the Dean of the Department
of Sociology of the Yerevan State University, at the November 13
scientific conference dedicated to the day of the above-mentioned
department. In her conviction, doing services for image-making or
electoral process "in this or that way" causes a great damage to the
reputation of the real sociology. Lyudmila Haroutiunian mentioned
that the immediate problem of true sociologists is to contribute to
the settlement of the problems set in front of society. In her words,
"assistance should be provided to society for going the right way,
which will bring happiness and satisfaction to the members of that
society."
