YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 13, NOYAN APAN. The paper payments by the Armenian
banks in the third quarter of 2007 made up 13.6% of the total amount
of their payments and 0.37% of the total number (their amount grew
1.3fold on the same period of 2006, while their number remained almost
    the same).

According to the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA),
the average daily number of paper payments by the CBA made 170 payments
of the amount of 5.3 bln drams (over 15 mln 688 thousand USD) - the
average daily amount of transfers grew by 3 bln drams on the third
quarter of 2006, while the average amount of a paper transfer grew
by about 16 mln drams on the third quarter of 2006 and made 31.3 mln
drams. The growth of paper transfers is mainly conditioned by repo
and counter-repo operations. 23 paper transfers of 8.9 bln drams were
made between commercial banks in the third quarter of 2007.
