COMMUNIST PARTY WILL NOT NOMINATE PRESIDENT

    Largir, Armenia
    Nov 29 2007

On November 29, the day when Armenia became a soviet country, the
Communist Party of Armenia held its 37th conference. The first
secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party Ruben
Tovmasyan said the bureau of the Central Committee has decided not
to nominate a candidate and not to support any of the candidates.

He says this year the 90th anniversary of the October Revolution
is celebrated, which "saved the Armenian people from repression,
    illiteracy and poverty".

The delegates of the 37th conference are likely to offer a proposal
to the government of Armenia to declare November 29 a national holiday.
