THE REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ARMENIAN CHURCH PARTICIPATE IN THE 9TH MECC
GENERAL ASSMEBLY
The 9th General Assembly of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC) will
be convened on November 27-30 in Cyprus. His Holiness Aram I delegated six
representatives to participate in the meeting on behalf of the Armenian
Church. The delegation is composed of Archbishop Sebouh Sarkissian (Primate
of the Diocese of Tehran), Bishop Kegham Khatcherian (Primate of the Diocese
of Lebanon), Bishop Nareg Alemezian (Ecumenical Officer), Dr. Nora
Bayrakadarian-Kabakian (Chairwoman of the Ecumenical Committee), Dr. Jean
Salmanian (member of the Ecumenical Committee) and Carla Khijoyian.
The agenda of the assembly includes several issues related to the council.
Participants will draw new plans and vote on them as well as hold elections
for the different positions within the council.
