Armenian genocide resolution should be more specific - expert

Yerevan, 5 October: Armenia's foreign diplomacy is inert on the issue
of lobbying for appropriate contents of the resolution on the
Armenian genocide, the head of the Ararat strategic research centre,
prominent Armenian historian Armen Ayvazyan, has told an Arminfo
    correspondent.

According to him, Armenia should use all opportunities as well as the
means of the Armenian diaspora in order for foreign states not to
merely adopt a resolution on Armenian genocide, but also develop
appropriate documents that reflect the reality.

"The recognition of the Armenian genocide is not an end in itself. We
should strive to achieve our own goals, which reflect specific tasks
that are not currently on the agenda," the Armenian expert said.

He added that Armenian society and politicians should be informed
about the content of the documents on the Armenian genocide, which
are put up for debate by foreign parliaments.

"We need to clearly realize - what the process of recognizing and
condemning the Armenian genocide means, and that without detailed
study of documents we will not be able to understand politics,"
    Ayvazyan said.
