THE ONE WHO HAS MUCH MONEY IS THE HERO OF THEATER TODAY

"The Armenian theater is not in keeping with my rhythm. By "I" I mean
    the present spectator.

Television has more success, despite its programs which are of low
quality, than the theater. Today, the theater should be the part of
our daily lives, while the TV should substitute it, theater should
be the place where you come to talk to yourself and not to the past"
    said Michael Poghosyan, an actor.

Many Armenian actors and producers are of the same opinion on the
present situation in the theaters. The theaters are, mainly, located
in Yerevan, the plays are the works of classical writers, which are
not consonant with the present. The Armenian actors are not satisfied
with this situation, and do their best to improve the situation. In
Nikolay Tsaturyan's opinion, a producer, the Armenian theater needs a
true modern hero, whom the nation would follow and learn from him. "I
think that we, can find these heroes.

They should not be the today's oligarchs, whom we make heroes,
since unfortunately; hero is the one who has much money today. But,
in fact, hero should be the one who is ready to sacrifice himself
for the sake of the country and be a talented person", considers the
producer. According to him, today's youth knows Tata and Armenchik,
Armenian pop singers, better, than the world famous astronomer and
scientist Gurzadyan. "We should reinstate the standards and the
values in our country, so that the art will become a real art",
    says Nikolay Tsaturyan.

Artistic Director of the Yerevan State Theater of the Young Spectator
Hakob Ghazanchyan considers that the Armenian theatrical idea should be
liberated. This, particularly, refers to those talented actors who want
to contribute to the theater's development. "They feel constrained and
are afraid of something. I stage the same play here and abroad. I may
ask the actresses there to do such things that will not embarrass them.

Here you will not allow yourself to do the same thing, since here we
must do everything within the frames of art standards. I am free in
abroad, since I have the same approach as they and the play is staged
    better", pointed out Hakob Ghazanchyan.

As to the life in the theater, the following ideas were expressed:
"Imagine a mature man and a woman who have much desires but less
opportunities. Our theater is in the same crisis. We should give
medals and prizes to the older actors of our stage and ask them to
yield in their places to younger generation, to the youth that feels
the rhythm better" said Michael Poghosyan.

"The life in the theater is in a poor state, but I hope that it will
get better and more spectators will visit theaters. We should find new
and more interesting plays and formats, that will be more consonant
with European theaters", said Nikolay Tsaturyan.
