YEREVAN, OCTOBER 9, ARMENPRESS: Transport and communications minister
Andranik Manukian denounced today the Dutch-managed HayPost (Armenian
Post ) company for a massive layoff saying if this company seeks to
improve its financial standing it must archive it through business
development and not by sacking over 100 employees.
The minister was asked by journalists to comment on the news when he
visited a philately exhibit in Yerevan.
Manukian said skilled employees who have worked for the company
for years should not be fired. He said all employees must be given a
chance to correct their mistakes if they are not criminally prosecuted
offenses.
He said his ministry has not yet examined the situation, but added
that it will demand that the company substantiates every case.
