Karabakh settlement unlikely before presidential election - Kocharian
Armenian President Robert Kocharian doubts the Karabakh problem would
be solved before the presidential elections due in Armenia next year.
"In my opinion, the negotiations will hardly result in any agreement
on settlement principles before the presidential elections," he told
a Brussels press conference after meetings with EU officials.
The president said that Armenia and Azerbaijan had covered a long way
to agree on several issues.
It is important to continue the search for solutions in the
Armenian-Azerbaijani and Armenian-Turkish settlement processes,
European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso told the press
conference.
