"Arevik" was invited to Cyprus for the period from 5th to 9th of
October, 2007. The concerts were organized by the Cultural Committee
of the Armenian Representative office under the auspices of the
Armenian Representative in the Cyprus House of Parliament mr Vartkes
Mahdessian. On the 5th of October the ensemble arrived in Larnaca
where they were welcomed by mr V. Mahdessian and the member of the
    Cultural Committee mrs Nairi Mouradian.

The concerts took place on the 6th and 7th of October in the Municipal
Strovolos Theatre in Nicosia where were presented the ministers of
Cyprus, ambassadors of almost all the embassies in Cyprus as well
as respected clergy including His Grace, the Bishop of the Armenian
church of Cyprus and the intellectuals of the country.

There was storm of applause for "Arevik" at the both concerts. After
the first concert had been over A. Divanyan and members of the group
learned that there was also the boy who's going to represent Cyprus
at the Junior Eurovision song Contest 2007, Giorgos Ioannides.

Giorgos was aware that at the concert would be sung also the song
prepared for Eurovision and he came to take a closer look at "Arevik".

Children of "Arevik" and Giorgos chummed up, and Giorgos in his turn
performed his song for "Arevik" at one of the hearty parties. The
boy has liked "Arevik"s song "A dream" and he confessed that it
is the best one from all the Eurovision 2007 songs he'd heard. As
it turned out the grandfather of Giorgos Ioannides is an Armenian
by nationality/ Yeghya Boyajian/. The vocal coach of Giorgos, Silva,
born and educated in Yerevan is an Aremenian too. On the 8th of October
the singers of "Arevik" took part at the liturgy at the Cyprus "Surb
Astvatsatsin" church after which they were invited to the residence of
the Bishop where they listened to the history of the Armenian church
in Cyprus. Children were so glad to hear about the deep impression of
the Bishop from the concert and the pride he had in that Armenia has
such talented children who spread the Armenian song all over the world.

The Bishop gave presents as keepsakes and booklets with holy motets to
"Arevik". At the meeting and at one of the concerts was also present
the Bishop of Greece who said that he with pleasure would be ready
to see "Arevik" in Greece. "Arevik" saw the Mediterranean Sea in the
Lebanon but in Cyprus on the beach "Ayanapa" they could enjoy it again
not only admiring its image but also swimming in it and sunbathing. The
Armenians, Greeks, blacks and the English which were at the concerts
confirmed that there was no concert like that in Nicosia before.
