DASHNAKTSUTYUN DOESN'T LIKE ARA APRAHAMYAN'S INITIATIVE

The Armenian Revolutionary Party isn't joining Russian-Armenian
Union president Ara Aprahamyan's initiative, not agreeing that
the question of the Armenian Genocide should be given to the
international court. "As far as we know, an application has been made
to the court. We don't agree with that, as our question isn't the
recognition of the Genocide. In our opinion, relations with Turkey
don't begin with, or end with, recognition of the Genocide," stated
Kiro Manoyan, stating Dashnaktsutyun's position in reference to the
    initiative taken by Ara Aprahamyan.

We note that Ara Aprahamyan, at a recent press conference, said all
necessary documents had been gathered, and that they were ready to
discuss the Genocide in the international court. High government
officials in Armenia haven't given their approval to the initiative.

Manoyan insists that besides the importance of the Genocide itself,
there is the issue of the displacement of the native Armenian
    population.

"Turkey was conducting a policy: they deported, murdered, and we have
our rights, as stated in the Treaty of Sevres. For this, we should
apply to the courts. But that should have a strong foundation,"
    Manoyan said.

In his words, the issue should be discussed at the government
level. "But Turkey has to agree to that.

International courts aren't set up that way, to where just one
government presents its side," added Manoyan.
