The Armenian Assembly of America announced that California State
Assemblyman Greg Aghazarian (R-Stockton) will serve as master of
ceremonies for the Assembly's 35th Anniversary Gala on November 3rd
at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

"For 35 years, the Armenian Assembly of America has been an important
force for freedom in our country and around the world, encouraging
Armenian Americans to become more active in civic affairs, educating
policymakers and the public about Armenian issues, while welcoming
all Americans to join them in their humanitarian and pro-democracy
    work abroad," said Aghazarian.

"I am pleased to have the opportunity to lead friends and supporters
in honoring the Armenian Assembly as we celebrate this important
    milestone for our community."

"We are thrilled to have one of our very own California Assemblyman,
Greg Aghazarian himself, joining us as master of ceremonies for this
milestone event," said Gala Committee Co-Chairs Diane Cabraloff
and Sandra Kalemkiarian. "He has been a strong advocate for the
    Armenian-American community."

Aghazarian, who represents California's 26th District, was elected to
the State Assembly in 2002. He has co-authored legislation declaring
April 24th as an annual day of remembrance for the Armenian Genocide,
and has authored legislation calling upon Congress to recognize the
Armenian Genocide at the federal level. Additionally, he has been a
leader in the fight to ensure that insurance claims were rightfully
paid to family members of the victims of the genocide. Aghazarian
currently serves as Vice-Chairman of the California Assembly Public
Safety Committee, Co-Chairman of the Assembly Ethics Committee, and a
member of the Assembly Natural Resources and Rules Committees. He is
a graduate of the University of Southern California and the University
of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.
