INVASION OF TURKISH TROOPS INTO NORTH IRAQ WILL HAVE NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES FOR WHOLE REGION, DAVID HOVHANNISIAN CONSIDERS

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 25, NOYAN TAPAN. The invasion of Turkish troops into
North Iraq will contribute to more aggravation of the situation in
the region, which as it is has many conflicts breaking its integrity,
flooding it by migrants and hampering cooperation in the region. David
Hovhannisian, an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, a senior
lecturer at the Arabic studies chair of Yerevan State University,
said this in his interview to Noyan Tapan correspondent, commenting
upon the fact of Turkish troops' invasion into North Iraq.

He reminded that the Kurdish people has settled in four states
of the region, Syria, Iran, Iraq, and Turkey. According to the
Ambassador, operations against a part of the Kurdish people will
result in consolidation of its other parts, which, in its turn,
will violate stability not only in Iraq, but also in the rest of the
three countries. The last circumstance, according to D. Hovhannisian's
evaluation, can cause growing of local operations into a global war.

The Ambassador mentioned that these events will also have a certain
impact on Armenia, as it is situated very close to the processes
    going on.

"Naturally, all negative events will have an impact on Armenia
inevitably and quickly," D. Hovhannisian stated.
