U.S. RECOGNITION OF ARMENIAN GENOCIDE INEVITABLE

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ "U.S. recognition of the Armenian Genocide is
inevitable. It will happen sooner or later. The point is when the
United States chooses the right time. It says the time hasn't come
yet. But it's merely the opinion of the State Department and Bush
administration," Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian told a
    news conference in Yerevan.

The Minister emphasized that Turkey won't have to worry if the House
    of Representatives passes H.Res.106.

"Since October 10, when the resolution was adopted by the House panel,
I have not heard American or world press say there was no Armenian
Genocide. From this viewpoint, discussion of H.Res.106 produced
    effect," he said.

October 10, with a vote 27 to 21 the U.S. House Committee on Foreign
Affairs adopted the Armenian Genocide Resolution, H.Res.106, which
was introduced by Representative Adam Schiff January 30, 2007.

The State Department keeps insisting on dropping the measure.

"I continue to believe that the passage of such a resolution as the
Armenian Genocide Resolution would severely harm relationships with
Turkey," said Condoleezza Rice, the U.S. Secretary of State.
