OSCE MINSK GROUP COCHAIRMEN DUE IN REGION IN MID-SEPTEMBER

BAKU, SEPTEMBER 4, ARMENPRESS: Azerbaijani foreign minister Elmar
Mamadyarov met Monday (September 3) with French and Russian cochairman
of the OSCE Minsk Group, Bernard Fassier and Yuri Merzlyakov,
in Brussels.
Azerbaijani foreign ministry said the meeting was part of efforts
within so-called Prague Process to end the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The Azerbaijani ministry said the three men discussed the current
situation in the conflict zone and the main principles of the talks,
as well as details of another visit to the region by the Minsk Group
cochairmen, scheduled for mid-September.
I n a related development Armenian foreign ministry said minister
Vartan Oskanian was due to meet today with French and Russian
cochairman of the OSCE Minsk Group-Bernard Fassier and Yuri Merzlyakov
in Brussels.
The Armenian ministry said originally Oskanian had not been scheduled
to meet with Fassier and Merzlyakov, but the necessity of the meeting
came after Mamadyarov's meeting with the peace brokers on September 3.
Both ministers are in Brussels to participate in the strengthening
the European neighborhood policy forum.
