DELEGATION OF FRENCH SOCIALIST PARTY ARRIVES IN YEREVAN ON ONE-DAY VISIT

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 6, NOYAN TAPAN. The delegation of the French
Socialist Party, which is in Armenia on a one-day visit at the
invitation of the ARFD, met with the RA President, Prime Minister,
Foreign Minister on September 6.
Francious Holland, the delegation's head, party's First Secretary, said
this during his meeting with journalists. He said that issues regarding
the role of France in Armenia's development and Armenia-France-Turkey
relations have been discussed during those meetings.
According to F. Holland, the French Socialist Party is going to
negotiate with Turkey about issues related to Turkey's membership to
EU. In his words, several preconditions will be put before Turkey, the
most important of which is the recognition of the Armenian Genocide. It
was also mentioned that the party is working out a bill on determining
a punishment for denying the Armenian Genocide.
