A CHILDREN'S BIBLE PUBLISHED IN ANTELIAS
The Christian Education Department of the Catholicosate of Cilicia and the
Holy Bible Society of Lebanon have jointly published a new children's Bible,
a project initiated by His Holiness Aram I.
The Bible summarizes the Old and New Testaments in 256 pages tailored for
the use of children and teens through the use of pedagogical approaches. The
publication is colorful and pictorial; its language is simple and
understandable for children. It is the Armenian version of the volume
originally published in English by the Holy Bible Society.
The General Manager of the Holy Bible Society, Mike Bassous, visited the
Armenian Pontiff on September 6 to present the first copy of the publication
and inform him of the publication process. The Chairman of the Christian
Education Committee, V. Rev. Krikor Chiftjian, also attended the meeting.
Praising the initiative, the Catholicos discussed with the General Manager
future projects, including the publication of new children's books and the
promotion of the Children's Bible among the public.
The Catholicosate's Christian Education Department has published many
children's books and several other publications are in process. Customizing
the Holy Bible to make it understandable to different age groups, including
children, teens, the youth and the elderly, is currently an important part
of the religious publications in Antelias.
