LEADER OF THE OPPOSITION DEMOCRATIC PARTY OF ARMENIA IS READY TO SUPPORT PRIME MINISTER SERZH SARKISYAN AT THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

'One can break the system existing in the country only by means of
force in case of wide people's movement or the actions from inside. If
Prime Minister Serzh Sarkisyan is on the edge of doing that, we shall
probably support him at the forthcoming presidential election', -
the leader of the oppositional Democratic Party of Armenia, Aram
Sarkisyan, told journalists in Pastarq club today.
He also added that in Armenia there is almost no pre-condition to
start wide public movement for breaking the existing system, as it
happened at the presidential campaign in 2003. In such a situation
it would be better if somebody from inside tries to make the needed
steps. Asked by ArmInfo correspondent if in the actions of the prime
minister he noticed a desire to conduct a course that differs from the
policy conducted by the president Robert Kocharyan, the oppositionist
replied that they still noticed half-steps which did not logically
continue. 'Undoubtedly Serzh Sarkisyan shares responsibility for the
situation in the country. For this reason, if he is going to change
something, he should show before the presidential election how his
future policy will differ from the present one>, - Aram Sarkisyan said.
