EUROPE SELECTS ARMENIAN STAMP FOR 2007

As part of the yearly EUROPA stamp competition, the Armenian HayPost
EUROPA stamp was selected as the best stamp among the 50 participating
European postal operators for 2007.
During its yearly PostEurop Plenary Assembly, HayPost was honored
today for having won the 2007 EUROPA stamp competition by a landslide.
Mr. Hans Boon, the Director General of HayPost accepted the award
on behalf of HayPost and thanked the PostEurop members and plenary
participants for their support in HayPost's postal operations and
developments.
The 2007 EUROPA stamp was issued in Armenia today on September 12,
2007 in commemoration of the centenary year of Scouting and to
celebrate the positive contribution of youth involvement. EUROPA
stamps are special stamps issued by European postal administrations /
enterprises under the aegis of PostEurop which have Europe as their
central theme. EUROPA stamp issues are among the most collected and
most popular stamps in the world.
