    "WE WILL REESTABLISH OUR RIGHTS"

    A1+
    [05:25 pm] 13 September, 2007

The residents of the North Avenue, Buzand, Koghabtsi, Firdus, Aghbyur
Serob streets and the residents of Dalma and Nork gardens organized
a protest action with "Mr Sargsyan, you deceived us", "The President
does not care of the nation, and you Mr Prime Minister?", "We do not
want a deceitful president", "We demand to punish those who destroyed
our houses" posters. They organized the demonstration without any
particular expectation that anyone from the Government would receive
them and solve their problems. The aim of the protest actions which
are organized periodically is to reestablish the violated rights of
those who suffered for the state needs.

Vachagan Hakobyan, head of the "Protection of Property Rights" NGO
said that they had prepared some letters, which they would submit to
the Government, send to some NA fractions, parties, to the presidents
of various countries and to the ambassadors in Armenia.

They sent two letters to the "Republican Party of Armenia" and
"Dashnaktsutyun - Armenian Revolutionary Federation" fraction
yesterday. The letters say: "The parties promised to build democratic
country in their pre-election programs and maintain human rights,
we ask you to carry out your promise".

Today they handed over a letter to the Prime Minister.

The demonstrators underlined the Prime Minister's promise given to
them before the NA elections. "I can solve the problems of one or
two of you, but in order not to make it a pre-election speculation,
let us meet after elections and I promise to give fair and positive
solutions to the problems". As Vachagan Hakobyan informed, the Prime
Minister said to Larisa Alaverdyan that mass media disseminated
misleading information. He met the demonstrators but did not promise
to solve their problems. "But he promised us and even tasked the
Yerevan Mayor to solve our problems. We do not want to meet anyone,
but if in the coming 10 days we do not receive a positive answer we
will ask the foreign presidents to interfere in the protection of our
rights and even ask for shelters and organize sit-in demonstrations
in front of the embassies", said Vachagan Hakobyan.

At the same they expressed hope in their letters that "the Prime
Minister will not deceive the nation. The promise was not connected
    only with the NA elections".

"We will achieve the reestablishment of our rights even if we have
to die", added one of the demonstrators.
