ARF Dashnaktsutyun must nominate president

The expedience of putting up a candidate for the presidential election
will be discussed in the general meeting of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun
which started September 14, stated Armen Rustamyan, member of the
Supreme Body of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun. "Not only the past
parliamentary election and its results for the party will be evaluated
but also the tactics of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun in the upcoming
presidential election will be outlined," Armen Rustamyan said.
In commenting on the results of the parliamentary election he said:
"The means of preventing fraud proved ineffective against the
sophisticated system of fraud and irregularities which is constantly
being improved."
"After the parliamentary election the Supreme Body of the party set
out to outline the tactics of participation in the election, mindful
of putting up its own candidate. It is a political must for the ARF
Dashnaktsutyun to put up its own candidate for the presidential
election. We appeared to the voters in the parliamentary election with
this stance and this is what the voters expect from us," Armen
Rustamyan said.
He also added that the decision to put up its own candidate in the
election is necessary to overcome the disappointment of people with
the parliamentary election. "The estrangement of people from the
political forces is a dangerous signal for the country," Armen
Rustamyan said adding that there is only one way - "to act
independently".
