WORKING CONSULTATIONS AT PRESIDENT'S OFFICE

The process of reforms of the Ministry of Defense was discussed
during today's working consultations at RA Presidnet's Office,
featuring the Prime Minister, the Minister of Defense, the Chairman
of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defense, National Security
and Domestic Affairs, the Head of Staff of RA President's Office,
other officials.
The President said the reforms are mainly directed at strengthening
the civil control over the Ministry of Defense, rise of the efficiency
of the system's management and optimal use of resources.
Noting that the work proceeds normally, the President attached
importance to the final agreement on some conceptual questions,
which will enable to move forward faster.
The participants of the consultations turned to the draft law on
special civil service to be passed by yearend.
Summing up the consultations, Robert Kocharyan said a lot of work is to
be done and instructed to act in compliance with the preset schedule.
