ARMENIAN PRESIDENT AWARDS MEDALS AND TITLES TO SCIENTISTS

Armenian President Robert Kocharyan signed a decree on Tuesday
awarding medals and titles to scientists on the 16th anniversary of
the republic's independence, presidential press office reports.
Surb Mesrop Mashtots medal was awarded to academician Vladimir
Barkhudaryan for contribution to history science.
Ph Dr Vazgen Gabrielyan, a professor at Yerevan State University got
Movses Khorenatsi Medal.
Ph Dr Vazgen Melikyan, the director of education department of
Synopsis-Armenia, and Academician Alpik Lazarian got honorable titles.
