Ambartsum Asatryan, soldier of the armed forces of Armenia who has
defected to the Azerbaijani side voluntarily, refuses to return to
Armenia. Defense Minister of Azerbaijan, Safar Abiev, reported this
to journalists. Asatryan went to the Azerbaijani side on August 4 on
the frontline in the Agdam District of Azerbaijan. He explained his
actions by the intolerable situation in the Armenian army, bribery,
hazing and hunger among soldiers.
