ARMENIA TO IMPORT IRAN'S GAS IN 2009

    PRESS TV, Iran
    Sept 25 2007

Iran-Armenia gas pipeline cost over $28 million
Armenia will begin imports of natural gas from Iran in 2009 to meet
its energy needs, Armenia's Energy Minister, Armen Movsisyan, says.

The minister told reporters that beginning in 2009, Iran will export
1.1 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas to Armenia every year.

By 2019, Iran's annual gas exports to Armenia will increase to 2.3 bcm,
    he added.

A 144-km gas pipeline linking Armenia to Iran was inaugurated by the
presidents of the two countries early this year.

Iran is expected to supply all of Armenia's gas needs within the next
two years. The total outlay for the pipeline was about $28.2 million.
