CAN DASHNAKTSUTYUN MAKE GOOD OPPOSITION?

In fact, the ARF Dashnaktsutyun cannot be an alternative to the
government in the presidential election of 2008, stated the secretary
of the ARF faction Samvel Nikoyan on September 27 at the Pastark press
club. He thinks the party which formed government and is a partner of
the coalition government cannot declare itself to be an alternative
to the government. "We understand the ARF Dashnaktsutyun's intention
for nomination, and we respect the two possible candidates, but it
is not clear what the opposition is going to do if the pro-government
party takes its place," Samvel Nikoyan says.
Saying that the nomination of two interim candidates reveals democracy
inside the party Samvel Nikoyan said he wished the society also had
a chance to follow the competition inside the party.
