"POLITICIANS IN ARMENIA PREPARE FOR ELECTIONS LIKE FOR A BATTLE AND HOLD THEM LIKE A BATTLE," PPA SPOKESPERSON SAYS

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 28, NOYAN TAPAN. Ruzan Arakelian, a member of the
NA ARFD faction, considers that ARFD's running for the forthcoming
presidential elections individually is not an end in itself: ARFD
will be guided by the principles set before itself and will lead the
struggle till the end. R. Arakelian expressed an opinion during the
September 28 meeting with journalists that the current home political
situation in Armenia will preserve until the elections. She also
reminded that the name of the candidate to be nominated by ARFD for
the presidential elections will become known in November.
Ruzan Khachatrian, the Spokesperson of the People's Party of Armenia
(PPA), also touching upon the forthcoming presidential elections,
said that "politicians in Armenia prepare for the elections like for
a battle and hold them like a battle." According to R. Khachatrian,
though for PPA, the best candidate for presidency is Stepan Demirchian,
nevertheless, it is ready to consolidate around another candidate
for the sake of the idea of having a common candidate.
