ARTASHES GEGHAMYAN TOURS IN HISTORICAL CROSSROADS

Chairman of `National Unity' (NU) party Artashes Geghamyan has got
disappointed after the parliamentary elections and sought explanations
in the writings of Greek-Roman philosophers. After a long search, he
found the truth in the historical records on the biography and work of
Marcos Avrelios, where he has read: `You must love those who have hurt
you.' That day has become decisive for Geghamyan and he has made up
his mind to be guided by that truth. `Since that day I have decided to
love the present and past authorities in power. We must love a lot and
cuddle those people who have hurt us,' the chairman of the party said
in a press conference dedicated to the 10th anniversary of National
    Unity.

Geghamyan said the figures released by National Statistics Service are
fake. `The country is in dire social-economic situation,' he said
enumerating all challenges that the country has faced.

After a long speech delivered by Geghamyan, the deputy chairman of NU,
Koriun Arakelyan, announced on behalf of the conference participants
that they are for nominating the candidacy of Artashes Geghamyan at
the presidential elections. Geghamyan said the party chairmanship
session must also reach such a decision. The session will be held in
November. If the chairmanship decides that Artashes Geghamyan should
not nominate his candidature, the party will decide who to support
    during the presidential elections.

Chairman of `People's way' party Manuk Gasparyan, Haik Babukhanyan and
chairman of National Self-determination Union Paruir Hairikyan were
invited to the conference. `We have invited those who supported my
candidature at presidential elections 2003,' Geghamyan explained.
