PRESIDENT SAYS AZERBAIJAN TO REGAIN CONTROL OVER BREAKAWAY REGION

Azerbaijan will regain control over its breakaway Karabakh region by
peace or war, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has said.

Aliyev made the remarks at a joint news conference which he and Turkish
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan gave after their meeting in Baku
    on 27 July.

"They [Armenians] think they have resolved the Karabakh issue. They
are wrong. Nagornyy Karabakh is Azerbaijani land, remains to be
Azerbaijani land, and Azerbaijan will restore its sovereignty over
Nagornyy Karabakh either by peace or by war," Aliyev said in his
remarks broadcast by Azerbaijan's Public TV.

He said that the Azerbaijani people and the Azerbaijani state were
"very grateful" to Turkey for its position on the Nagornyy Karabakh
conflict. He added that "like in all fields", cooperation between
his country and Turkey in the fight against terrorism was "at a very
    high level".

He also slammed the current situation in Armenia, saying its economy
was in a state of "an-all out crisis" and only "foreign donations" and
"foreign protectors" kept it going. He added that Armenians laid claims
to "historical" Turkish lands and said that this showed that Armenians
were "living in a world of dreams that they themselves have created"
and that "they should wake up and come back to the real world".
